Romain Fruits markets very big chesnuts size, essentially class G0 (+ 20grs).
Romain Fruits, shipper from St Marcel les Valence in France is a specialist of very big chestnuts size.
The harvest has just begun since middle of September and the production is announced to be the same as the previous season and should reach 50 tons.
The classification of chestnuts is established according to the weight of fruits: G2 for fruits of 12 to 15grs, G1 for 15 - 20 grs and G0 for more than 20 grs.
80 % of chestnuts marketed by Romain Fruits are of class G0 and can reach 40 grs. They are hand-picked, calibrated and packaged by hand to avoid any stripe or injuries.
As a luxury item, these chestnuts very big size are on sales on delicatessens. Romain Fruits exports in Northern Europe and in Switzerland.
