Total Produce launches 'Top Fruit Hub' and the first pumpkin in the space

The Irish company has just launched its new application for smartphones 'Top Fruit Hub'.

The application 'Top Fruit Hub' allows to access additional information about fruits and vegetables, interactive games for children, recipes and more than 150 videos.

One of them being really original: "Pumpkins in space" (pumpkins in space). Wink to the Halloween festivities, but also proof for children that fruits and vegetables can be fun and at the cutting edge of technology.

A grandfather and his little son preparing to launch. Pumpkin is first sculpted, due to a video available on the application. Then, mounted on a platform where are installed: a balloon filled with helium, for propulsion, a camera for recording the trip, and a parachute, for the descent. The pumpkin is mounted up to 32 km and then the balloon burst, the descent and place of landing were followed with a GPS chip built into the platform.
