Price drop for greenhouse vegetables decreases market basket cost

Based on the recent data, fruits and vegetables costs index has dropped down by 7% this week in Ukraine. Basically this factor could be attributed to costs decrease for greenhouse vegetables within local market of Ukraine. At the same time prices for other vegetables remain quite high – cabbage costs have rallied up this week in Ukraine, as well as carrots prices, which are much higher comparing to the previous season numbers. Potatoes costs remain comparatively low (6 times lower comparing to the carrots prices), while potatoes stocks are still considerably large. According to the latest information, strawberries prices have started sliding down this week, while lemons, bananas and apples prices have recently gone up in Ukraine.
