Food products imported from Japan can again enter Singapore.
AVA (Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore), the Health Authority of Singapore announced the easing of restrictions on food imports from Japan.
Fruits and vegetables, milk and dairy products, meat, eggs, tea, from 8 Japanese prefectures (Chiba, Ibaraki, Gunma, Kanagawa, Saitama, Shizuoka, Tochigi, Tokyo) can again be imported into Singapore without the need to pass preliminary tests. The total suspension on agricultural products and food products processed from Fukushima Prefecture is also lifted.
The only requirement is a certificate of origin to identify the prefecture where from does the product originate. AVA assures to have closely followed all food imports from Japan, and the results are satisfactory. However, it remains vigilant for future imports.
