An infrastructure meeting international standards that will increase trade and make the port of Abidjan the regional hub for maritime transport.
Called 'Côte d'Ivoire Terminal', the new container terminal began its commercial activities at the beginning of November. This 2nd container terminal for the port of Abidjan covers an area of 37.5 hectares, has a quay of 1100m with a draft of 16m. It is equipped with the latest equipment and innovations.
The new container terminal will help increase trade, strengthen the Côte d'Ivoire/Burkina Faso/Mali corridor and make the port of Abidjan the regional maritime transport hub.
According to the port authorities, the new terminal should allow Abidjan to increase container traffic to 3 million TEU (TEU) per year against 1.2 million TEU (TEU) currently.
