Argentina is the main banana market in Bolivia.
In 2016 the main market for bananas produced in Bolivia was Argentina which received 96.4% of exports of these fruits indicated IBCE (Instituto Boliviano de Comercio Exterior).
IBCE, the foreign trade analysis institute, based on data from INE (Instituto Nacional de Estadística) announces for 2016 the sale of 128 408 tonnes of bananas for export and estimated revenues of USD 35 Million.
Argentina is the main market (96.4% of the volume), far ahead of Uruguay (2.9%), Chile (0.6%) and Peru (0.1%). The best export performance over the past five years was in 2015, with 133,000 tons in volume and USD 38 million in value.
