SIIM announces start of West Africa DIBRA Mango Campaign
SIIM, main subsidiary of the OMER-DECUGIS and Sons group and major player in the production and export of West African mangoes, with more than 3 million packages exported each year from its locations in Côte d'Ivoire, in Mali, Burkina Faso and Senegal, has just started harvesting and shipping the first fruits of a promising campaign.
The mango trees benefited from good water supplies during the rainy season in 2018 and favorable weather conditions. The first fruits harvested are heralding a campaign of good taste quality. They are packaged under the "DIBRA" brand, which guarantees the best agricultural, social and environmental practices. DIBRA mango plantations are certified GLOBAL G.A.P, Rainforest Alliance and BSCI.
SIIM has for several years developed logistics solutions with the establishment of a supply chain dedicated to mango, a specific product that is fragile by nature. "Our direct involvement in each step of the supply chain, controlled from our offices in Abidjan and Paris, allows us today to offer state-of-the-art logistics in response to the expectations of Europe's major retail chains and, through them, to European consumers.
The first mangos of the campaign were exported by air this year to offer the consumer an earlier supply. More than 150 tonnes have already been shipped to Europe.
Producer, importer, ripener and distributor of tropical fruits and vegetables, SIIM is a subsidiary of the OMER-DECUGIS & Sons Group founded in 1850. Present in production in Africa and Latin America, SIIM has its own distribution network in France and in Spain from where it irrigates all European markets. It offers its specific expertise in ripening (bananas, mangoes, papayas, avocados) that allows it to offer a range of bananas and exotic fruits at maturity guaranteed from its Rungis platform.
