Rain has damaged around 50 per cent of north-west Victoria's white nectarine crop.
Rain has damaged around 50 per cent of north-west Victoria's white nectarine crop.
Swan Hill Summer Fruits Association president, Mick Tripodi says most of the crop won't make export grade now.
"It's got a lot of russety, russet in the skin of the white flesh nectarine and it's probably damaged up to 50 per cent in different farmers," he says.
"That's in the tens of thousands, definitely, of dollars it will cost, especially right now, because this variety, we could be exporting it and we definitely can't export it right now."
