Auchan celebrates its 50th Anniversary

The first store was opened in the area Hauts-Champs in Roubaix in July 1961 in an abandoned factory of 600m2.

50 years later, Auchan is the 12th worldwide distributor, present in 12 countries. Auchan recorded a turnover of 40 billion Euros with 548 hypermarkets and 738 supermarkets.

 
This anniversary will not be accompanied by an extensive media plan but will be celebrated throughout 2011 with differents events around the world like one week “Made in France” in Beijing, & Green Day (50 trees planted by hypermarket).
