Tradin Organic founding member of the Organic Processing and Trade Association

Tradin Organic is proud to be one of the founding members of the Organic Processing and Trade Association (OPTA). The aim of OPTA is to provide a platform for processors and traders in the European organic sector. This platform will promote powerful organic supply chains and a sustainable organic food system in Europe. The association was founded on the 7^th of June in Milan, Italy.

Karst Kooistra, The Sourcing Development Director of Tradin Organic, is a proud board member of OPTA. He feels that the association will enable the development of the organic sector and improve collaboration in organic supply chains. “The goal of our new founded association is to empower the progress of organic food and farming in Europe in close cooperation with our customers, the organic farmers and other partners of the organic supply chain”, he stated.

The President of Tradin Organic, Gerard Versteegh, is also glad that the company is participating in OPTA. “This association will enable the organic sector to further improve integrity and quality of organic products. Alongside organizations like the Organic Trade Association and IFOAM, OPTA will help us to promote strong and transparent organic supply chains” he said.

OPTA has the ambition to become the leading organization for organic processing and trading in Europe. OPTA invites all companies dedicated to organic trade and processing to join.
