Fruits & Vegetables under surveillance

In the UAE, the Ministry of Consumer Protection plans to set up a Committee for Fruit & Vegetable markets , by the end of the year.

According to the Ministry , the Committee will oversee the price, quality and other issues concerning the Fruits & Vegetables sector. The Committee will be based in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and authority will cover all Fruit & Vegetables markets in the UAE .

Prices are currently stable and will not be allowed to ride in arrow . The offer is qualified enough to absorb any increase in demand. The volume of trade is considered high with 12 000 tonnes arriving daily on the Dubai stock market that would have an estimated volume of 100,000 tons.
