After 3 successful participations, Canada returns to the show for the 4th consecutive year.
Canada is present at the show for the 4th consecutive year. Canadian exhibitors offer a sample of what the country can offer, from fresh products (apples, potatoes, blueberries, cranberries, cherries ...) to innovative sustainable packaging.
The country has a reputation for having harsh winters, but its vast area offers a great diversity and some of its provinces allow Canada to have an important horticultural industry.
According to AAFC (Agriculture and Agrifoods Canada) Canada exported CAD 695 million ($526 million) of fruit and CAD 1.8 billion ($1.36 billion) of vegetables, including field vegetables, vegetables greenhouse and mushrooms in 2017. The country is a major producer of cranberries and blueberries. In the greenhouse vegetable category, Canada produces tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, peppers, green beans, eggplant and aromatic herbs.
"Fruit Logistica is a great forum to promote the Canadian fresh fruit and vegetable sector," said Sue Lewis of CPMA (Canadian Produce Marketing Association) "Canadian consumers are constantly exploring new products and flavors and we can't wait to see what the world has to offer, while promoting our own high quality, nutritious and tasty Canadian fruits and vegetables.
