Turkish companies took up the largest area of AGRO FOOD Iraq in 2012, held for the fifth time in Iraq from 26 to 29 November. The show centres on food and agricultural products as well as food packaging.
The Iraqi market is of great importance for Turkish exporters of agricultural products, particularly citrus. This is the second largest export market for fruit and vegetables (citrus and tea included) after Russia, with about 500,000 tons exported in 2012, approximately 30% more than
the previous year.
One of the most popular booths was that of Citrus Promotion Group Turks to promote the qualities of Turkish citrus.
The fair was also an opportunity for Turkish participants to get in contact with supermarket chains and discuss the problems encountered in the export market for Iraqi President of the Chamber of Commerce of Erbil, Sabahaladain al-Salihi.
