In order to keep logistics flows open, to give priority to essential goods such as medical supplies and foodstuffs, a platform was launched on the situation at border posts.
Due to the various national measures taken to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, IRU (International Road and Transport Union) in collaboration with UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) launched an observatory on the situation at border posts.
Communicating changes to vehicle, driver and cargo border control procedures. The information available on the platform is directly provided and updated by the countries, the European Commission and the IRU, which publishes daily updates based on the comments of its members.
