Much remains to be cleared but the most important is the re-opening of the market, central point for fruit and vegetables in Queensland.
Completely invaded by the flood last week, the wholesale market in Brisbane has reopened yesterday.
The market has suffered from massive damage. A huge operation of cleaning with the staff, the army and volunteers helped to clear damage and make a first cleaning to allow deliveries.
An area was reopened to business. The market began to accept trucks carrying fruits and vegetables. Deliveries have begun, and buyers have registered to access the market.
This is a " limited opening "and buyers will have to pre-ordered to wholesalers. The Brisbane's market is an essential element distribution in Queensland and for the rest of the country. It distributes approximately 600,000 tonnes of products each year.
