Sainsbury aims to attract sports fans who have no more excuses for not coming to the supermarket during matches.

Shopping trolleys that can accommodate an iPad to watch TV while shopping are being tested at Sainsbury’s.The high-tech trolleys are aimed primarily to attract sports fans that will have no excuses for not coming to the supermarket during a football game on TV.

The trollies have a medium that can receive an iPad, speakers. They are equipped with a sensor that beeps a warning if it comes too close to another client. A battery with a solar panel for self-charging assures the iphone does not run out of power.

The trolleys are being tested in the supermarket located in Cromwell Road, Kensington, West London. If the test is successful, Sainsbury could extend it to other stores in the UK.
