Avocaods from South Africa arrived in Europe ahead of their normal schedule and with those of Peru overwhelmed the market

Avocados exports have faced their rivals from Peru on the European market .

South African producers have shipped earlier than their usual schedule (late April / early May ) avocaods in the European market . At the same time Europe has received several avocados sources including Peru, which resulted an over- abundance of products and lower prices .

SAAGA (South Africa Avocado Growers' Association ) estimates that prices will rebound. Weather conditions in Europe in early spring did not favor the demand that will increase with the arrival of warm weather .

Then , the export peak occurs in South Africa from June to August . At this time , the only re;aining on the market will be from Peru and South Africa which share the same export window (usually from May to September ) .
