Good start for the Aegean strawberry

After the Strawberry of Silifke, produced on the Mediterranean coast in the south east of Turkey and which is the most exported, the aroma and quality of strawberry produced in Sultanhisar takes its titles of nobility and is ranked as the second.

Its production began in the 90s as alternative culture and currently around 20-25 000 tons are produced and the export should nearly double this year, from 5000 to 8000 tons. 10 trucks per day depart to markets of Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Germany and Russia. The season is expected to continue until the end of June.
