The Agricultural and Livestock Service of Chile (SAG) and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Santiago announced the renewal of the recognition of the Fresh Food Safety Control System of Plant Origin of Chile, which includes apples, pears, table grapes, kiwis, cherries and blueberries; and allows the entry of these fruits from Chile through the port of Jakarta, without the need to certify that the products are safe and suitable for consumption.
For the first time, this recognition was generated in 2018 and remained valid for 3 years, and is now renewed for 3 more years as of November 2021.
It is worth mentioning that in the 2020/21 campaign, Chile exported 1,198,601 boxes of fruit to Indonesia, mainly table grapes, which increased from 255,805 boxes in 2019/20 to 1,171,177 in 2020/21, thus positioning itself as one of the main recipients of Chilean table grapes.
