Live from Turkey: A new "Perpignan" in Asia Minor?
The Antakya region, located in South-East Turkey, has increased its exports by five these last 2 years.
This region is one of the main citrus fruit-producing.
The political events occured these last years in the side countries - Syria, Irak and Iran - made the exports towards these countries quite hard.
Nowadays, everything has changed. The region became a turntable for these countries and also towards the Central Asia ones. Therefore, the companies do not only export citrus fruit but also import all products that can be sold in these countries.
The construction of a motorway that links this region to the port of Mersin in 3 hours, made easier the export towards Europe.
