On April 14, 2022 Freshfel Europe and its participating members (Ailimpo, ANPP, Apeel Sciences, Assomela, Bama Gruppen, Bayer AG, BVEO, COLEACP, Dole plc, Greenyard, Fresh Produce Centre, IG International, Interfel, VBT) launched Environmental Footprint Initiative, during the 1st meeting of the initiative's steering committee.

“More than ever, the fresh fruit and vegetable sector needs this methodology and digital tool. There is a growing demand from regulators, B2B and B2C for transparent and highly accurate sustainability data of products and the sector must not be left behind in order to maintain market competitiveness in the years to come", commented Nicola Pisano, Director of Sustainability and Health at Freshfel Europe.
