Turkey Stays Strong At Lemon Exportation
The lemon exportation increases 31 % during 2013-2014 season.
Mersin, which is Turkey’s one of the topliner citrus exportation zone, increased its exportation numbers on lemon despite of the neighboring countries conditions. While the president of Turkey Fresh Fruit-Vegetables Exports Union Sector Committee and International Citrus Council indicates that lemon domestic prices will remain high until the new season products come out, about 20 August, with the first variety Mayer, he explains that the increase in prices will not stop till straw lemon stocks ended.
The president also remembered that The International World Citrus Congress will be take place at Mersin in 2020 and preparations for congress are already in process. He also highlight that their goal will be 3.5 billion dollar citrus exportation in 2023.
