The Malaysian company Stimulus Nature Resources Sdn. Bhd. has invented a brand new sticker that extends the shelf life of fruit, particularly efficient for tropical fruit.
" STIX FRESH is the first sticker in the world that extends the freshness and extends shelf life up to 12 days."
The technology slows down the ripening process and control bacterial activity.
Met in WOP Dubai show, Mr Buquari OTHMAN, C.O.O of STIX FRESH points out:
"Only natural ingredients are used to guaranty food safety. The Stixfresh technology has fulfilled full process to receive agreements from highest food control bodies as Intertek ( Australia) following requirements of the European standard: IS EN 14338:2004. This guarantees there is no migration of any substant from sticker to the fruit."
The technology has been officially launched in September 2016, supported by Malaysian authorities. Already in October, FAMA the Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority has expressed its high interest to supply Malaysian farmers with this technology.
Mr. Zhafri ZAINUDIN, CEO & co-founder precises what are the benefits for fruit exporters:
"These stickers have been tested for different fruits and results depend on produce type. So far, best results have been seen on tropical it as mangoes, dragon fruit, star fruit, mangosteen... One of the tests have been made in ambient temperature for a Golden Lily variety of mango. These stickers have extended shelf life by 12 extra days!"
Stixfresh is the result of 4 years development plan. It is a labelling sticker, coated with a propriety mixture of salt (sodium chloride ) and Beeswax.
The stickers are 25 MM. diameter and no need special equipment to be stuck.
Today, the Malaysian start up is looking for distributors all over the world to serve tropical fruit growers and packers.
