Dole plans to double its plantations within 5 years

To respond to the huge Asian market, Dole Philippines Inc. (Dolefil) plans to double its pineapple plantations in the next 5 years.
Dolefil currently operates approximately 16,571 hectares (its properties and those of private producers) and began to explore new lands in areas of Sultan Kudarat, Davao del Sur, South Cotabato and North Cotabato. The company produces nearly 25 million boxes of pineapples processed and ships over 13 million boxes of fresh pineapple.
Dolefil belongs to the Japanese company Itochu Corporation, which in 2013 bought the divisions "Worldwide Packaged Foods" and "Asia Fresh" Dole Food Company. These acquisitions and the huge Asian market give it a development opportunity to seize.
