Lemons affected by the frost in south-east of Turkey

According to the delegation of the Chamber of Agriculture of Erdemli responsible to quantify the damage caused by low temperatures in late December, this cold snap came earlier this season and the producers were caught short.

400,000 tons of lemons are produced on approximately 90,000 acres in the area of Erdemli. These are mainly mid-season lemons of Lamas variety. The production would be much lower, about 250 000 tons.
