Exports of Turkish fruit and vegetables are rising in November

According to the statistics of the Union of Mediterranean Exporters, more than 600 000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables have been exported, 28% increase in quantity and 14% in value.
69% of total exports are citrus fruits (+ 26% compared to the same period in 2015).
Vegetables (13% of the total quantity exported in November), despite a 44% increase in quantity, show a decline in value of 17%, mainly due to the price of tomatoes, down by 28 percent.
The leading products are mandarin, which alone accounts for 40 percent of the total exported, followed by lemon, orange, pomegranate, tomato and chestnut, which is experiencing a dramatic increase in exports Of 78%.
The importing countries are Russia (31% of total exports), Iraq, Ukraine, Belarus (+374% compared with November 2015), Italy (+140% compared to November 2015), Saudi Arabia and only in 7th place, Germany.
Russia is back in first place, although it has not yet authorized the importation of all fresh Turkish products, thanks to its citrus imports, especially this month of mandarins.
