Kinnow exports have had a strong start

Pakistan has exported about 75,000 tons of Kinnow between November and January.
Waheed Ahmed, ex-Chairman of the “All Pakistan Fruit And Vegetables Exporters, Importers and Merchants Association” expects more than 260,000 tons for export, the target for 2010/11. Exports would bring 35 million U.S. dollars.
Total production of Kinnow expected is of 1.6 million tons, slightly down from last year with 1.8 million tons.
Pakistan ranks 13th citrus producer in the world, with an area of 185,000 hectares. Its main export markets are Iran (35% of total), Russia, Middle East, China and Indonesia.
