Apricot trees are in bloom.

Malatya, the largest Turkish city for the production of apricots, welcomes all spring flowers. With approximately 7.5 million apricot, it has posesses half of the orchards in Turkey alone, producing 90 percent of Turkish dried apricots. With more than two weeks in advance, producers are worried because the risk of frost is real and what promises to be a great harvest this season could turn into disaster in case of heavy rain or frost.
It is strongly recommended that producers of the region take an agricultural insurance in order to avoid the situation of the last season that relatively few farmers were insured.
