40% increase in the production of mangoes

Excellent campaign, mango production increases and could reach +40% growth at the end of the season.
Mango production is estimated to increase +40% for the 2013-14 campaign.
The export will reach 140,000 tons in mid-March, according to the Peruvian Association of Mango Producers and Exporters (APEM). Until the first week of February, the production reached 100,000 tons.
Piura is the N°1 region with 75% of total production, then comes the region of Lambayeque with 15% and Ancash with 10%. Mangoes of Kent variety represent 95% of exports.
