Kenya wants to continue to increase its production of potatoes

The country develops new varieties of potatoes.
Bilateral agreement between the Kenyan government and seed companies based in the Netherlands. The government has authorized four new varieties of potatoe seeds for the use of local farmers.
Kenya considers the Netherlands as the world leader in the production of potatoe seeds. Studied varieties, 40 are still being tested, can easily adapt to the conditions of the country.
Kenya is classified as the fifth largest producer in sub-Saharan Africa. Its production of potatoes has reached 5.6 million tonnes last year (only 2.4 million tons produced in 2011).
