A new packing unit in Mersin

In the heart of the region that produces 70% of Turkey citrus production, a 5th packing unit has been built in the quarter of Erdemli in Mersin.

Mr Mustafa Karagöz, président of the exporter Karagozler Emballage Narenciye, has declared that he is happy that his company set up a new unit in spite of the crisis.

The packing unit, built according to world standards, represents a € 3 millions investment. The unit has just began to operate, even if it has not been officially inaugurated yet.

This new packing unit can operate 150 to 200 tons a day with 150 employees and another 500 indirect jobs. Mr Karagöz wish is to double the number of employees to bring it to 1000 workers.

More than 60 types of vegetables, fruit and citrus are exported to foreigner markets from these units.

" We export to Hungary, Czeck republic , Germany, France, Italy, Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia, Albania. And recently to Georgia, Ukraine and Russia." declares President Karagöz .
