Meager growth of air freight volumes

Guangzhou (CAN) airport ranked in first position with a growth of + 7.5%.
In H1 2016 air freight recorded significantly lower results than the passenger market according to ACI report (Airports Council International).
The ACI report announced growth of air freight volumes by 0.5% in H1 2016. This poor performance is due to moderate growth in emerging markets and developing economies (4.1%) and a modest recovery in advanced economies (1.8%).
The impact on the air cargo market was variable: 3 regions (North America, laitine America and the Caribbean, Africa) registered freight losses of 2.1%, 0.9% and 0.1% respectively. In contrast, others have registered freight traffic increases: Asia Pacific + 1.0% + 2.3% Europe and the Middle East + 4.5%.
The classification by airport, the biggest air cargo growth was observed in Guangzhou (CAN, + 7.5%), Singapore (SIN, + 4.2%) and Delhi (DEL, + 10.5%). Significant decreases were recorded in Kuala Lumpur (KUL, -18.3%) and Tokyo-Narita (NRT, -3.6%).
