Avocado exports grew by 37.6%

For Colombia, avocado is now one of the country's flagship exports. In the first half of 2019, avocado exports increased by 37.6%.

 

 

 

According to information from ProColombia, in the first half of 2019, avocado exports increased by 37.6%. European countries such as Holland, the United Kingdom, Spain and Belgium are the main destinations, and in some of them, Colombian avocado incomes have increased by more than 100%.

 

 

 

This significant increase in avocado sales highlights the work done in several regions (Antioquia, Risaralda, Valle del Cauca, Caldas) in production and post-harvest processes. For professionals, efforts must continue to increase presence in markets such as the European Union, the United States, Bahrain and Singapore.

 

 

 

The US market is one of the destinations where the demand for Colombian avocados has increased the most, with an increase of nearly 700%.
