In 2/3 years, Greece could become the third largest producer of kiwi in the world.
As part of the international exhibition Freskon, that just took place in Thessaloniki, kiwi professionals stressed that the country still has a potential significant production. In the next 2 to 3 years Greece can become the third largest producer of kiwi in the world.
But to manage this volume adequate infrastructure and new opportunities will be required.The European market seems saturated, and the goal is to export to third world countries in Asia and Latin America . Achieving those goals will require a series of bilateral agreements between governments but expectations are often long (4 years of talks with South Korea and no signed agreement).
