Production of fruit and vegetables will benefit from Portugal's cooperation

Angola has an enormous agricultural potential but has to improve quality, logistics and distribution to approach better the European market.
Angola’s agriculture has an enormous potential: climate is favourable and the country has 57 million hectares of farmlands.
Angola’s agriculture is in net expansion thanks to the growth of the foreign investments in the sector. The country exports coffee, corn, manioc and bananas.
At the Food Fair 2010 which was held in Luanda, Portuguese Secretary of State of the rural Development announced a cooperation Portugal-Angola for production of fruit and vegetables.
"Portugal can help Angola in the sector of the food quality required in Europe to increase agricultural potential and allow Angola to face the requirements of the African and European markets".
The 2010 edition which saw the first participation of Turkey welcomed 120 companies exhibitors among whom 60 Angolans.
