Supply chain hit by floods
MD
The floods that affect two thirds of the country have resulted in the interruption of supply chains.
Much of the centre of Thailand is under water and Bangkok is threatened by flooding by the rising waters of the Cha Phraya river. All supply chains are interrupted at both national and international levels.
The economy is paralyzed and transport is no longer possible, so food supply is critical. In urban areas, shops and supermarkets no longer stock and deliveries are not possible.
Big C, Makro and Tesco have their warehouses in the area affected by ??major flooding and can not ensure the supply of their outlets. Most supermarkets have run out of staple foods and fresh produce.
