Brittany becoming "a must" on the french fruit and vergetable market.
For decades now, the french Brittany region has become world renouned thanks to the "Prince de Bretagne" brand name.
But for the past few years, many companies have tried to get "in on the action", and a few have succeded. After Caroff Pierre who has been bought out the company Jean L'Hourre, and the SARL Fernand Paugam who is now a part of Gosselin Normandie, it is now turn for Montfort & Fils.
That's right, Montfort & Fils, shipper and exporter has recently been purchased by the Parisian wholesaler Primeur Service Distribution (out of Rungis). Mr. Montfort, decided to sell hoping it will give his father's company a re-birth.
The company's details (phone and fax numbers) will remain the same, and to help make the transition as smooth as possible, Mr. Montfort has decided to "stick around" until late 2009, when he hopes "things will be able to go on without him.
