Higher export prices helped offset part of the decline in shipments.
Peru’s strawberry exports reached $5.86 million in September 2026, a 40% decline from the $9.76 million recorded in the same month last year, according to Agrodata. Export volume also fell by 48%, from 5.14 million kilos to 2.65 million kilos.
Despite the decline in shipments, the average export price increased from $1.90 to $2.21 per kilo.
From January to September 2026, Peru exported 14.13 million kilos of strawberries worth $28.21 million. Compared with the same nine months of 2025, export value increased by 15%.
The United States remained the largest destination, accounting for $13.83 million, or 49% of total export value. Canada followed with $8.02 million (28%), while Japan ranked third with $2.25 million (8%). Other markets included Guatemala, South Korea, Mexico and Germany.
