Peru grape exports set to grow in 2025/26
VU
Improved yields and steady demand support higher shipments.
Peru’s grape growers are entering the new season with confidence, as vineyards along the coast point to another increase in production after a year of favourable conditions.
Total table grape output is forecast to reach around 870,000 tonnes in 2025/26, up roughly 10 percent year on year. According to a USDA GAIN report, the increase is mainly linked to better results in existing vineyards rather than large new plantings. Investments in irrigation and farm practices are lifting yields, while newer grape varieties continue to replace older ones and better match export market demand.
Most of the crop will head overseas. Exports are expected to rise to about 770,000 tonnes, with the United States remaining the main destination, followed by the Netherlands and Mexico. Peru’s harvest window allows exporters to supply northern hemisphere markets during the off-season, supporting steady demand.
Peru’s favourable climate, long harvest period and wide varietal range continue to give exporters flexibility across different markets and price segments. Improvements in logistics and market access are also helping shipments reach a broader group of international buyers.
