Large program for the organization of fruit and vegetables sector: standards, new infrastructures and strengthened quality controls.
A vast program of modernization of infrastructures and organisation of fruit and vegetables sector is set up in Algeria.
The ministry of commerce announced the creation of a public national organism in charge of wholesale markets management.
Among the new infrastructures, there is Hadjout market. Its commercial spaces answer the standards, and facilitate work of the control agents.
For a better regulation of fruit and vegetables market, two other wholesale markets will open to Damous and to Cherchell.
The ministry also announces the opening of the first national trial laboratory, in progress in Sidi Abdellah (Algiers). Its mission will be to take care of the qualitative aspect and control of all products marketed in Algeria.
The 2010-2014 project wants to facilitate a better organization of the sector with:
- additional human means,
- Material and average quality controls.
