Tuesday 09 November 2010
These new varieties offer high resistance, minimize energy costs and will be more profitable for producers.
During Interpoma, the international trade fair devoted to apple
growing, storage and marketing (Bolzano, 4-6 November), the Consorzio Italiano Vivaisti - CIV has presented a new series of apple varieties that combine optimal organoleptic qualities with excellent natural resistance:
GAIA, GEMINI, RENOIR, SMERALDA and FUJION are their names.
They have excellent natural resistance. This resistance requires less expenditure of energy and is better for the environment.
Easier to maintain, these apples are profitable for the producers.
Hitherto resistant varieties had a bitter taste, these new varieties have a sweet taste and intense that meets the current market demand.
These 5 new varieties have passed the experimental stage and are ready for commercialization.
