JFC will control half of the banana plantations

Already owner of plantations in Ecuador and Costa Rica, JFC group, the largest banana importer in Russia, will take half of the banana plantations in Venezuela.

JFC group will create a joint venture with Venezuelan Food Corporation and take control of about 20,000 hectares of banana plantations local.

The agreement between the group and Venezuela JFC Food Corporation has been signed during the visit of Hugo Chavez in Moscow.

According to Global Reach Consulting, Russia imports represents 1 million tons of bananas per year.
