Variety of giant avocado of South African origin, avozilla is available for the 2nd consecutive year on the Australian market. Coming from a single farm in Australia, Avozilla is offered to consumers in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.
Avozilla is a giant avocado that weighs on average 750 grams but some fruits can reach 1 kilo. Result of a cross between 2 species of avocados, Avozilla is marketed under license by Westfalia. In Australia avozilla is grown by Groves Grown Tropical Fruits in Bungundarra, Queensland, the only Australian producer licensed to produce this exclusive fruit.
Groves Tropical Fruit Grown planted 400 avozilla trees 4 years ago and got its 1st harvest last year.
Avozilla has the taste of a classic avocado and its texture is particularly creamy. It is sold around 14 AUD (9.70 USD) per fruit of 750 gr.
