Shoprite has new projects of expansion

The supermarket chain Shoprite, 1st chain of food distribution in Africa has new projects of expansion.
Based in South Africa, the chain Shoprite Holdings is already based in 15 African countries and wants to expand. The chain plans to open its first store in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) where she saw good opportunities and also plans to open 11 new stores outside South Africa from June 2012.
Nigeria is the new objective of Shoprite where the chain currently has four outlets. Shoprite believes it is possible to operate 700 stores in the country. Nigeria has a huge potential with a large population (160 million of inhabitants), which is urbanizing faster and has new needs.
