an Icelandic company will develop greenhouses heated by geothermal energy to export tomatoes.

Geogreenhouse plans to be the first Icelandic company to export vegetables, namely tomatoes.

The tomatoes are grown in greenhouses heated by high-tech geothermal energy, which is inexhaustible in Iceland. The greenhouses will occupy 3.3 hectares at first and will be extended to 20 acres two years later. Construction should begin next spring, with the first exports planned for September.

Geogreenhouse believes that its tomatoes: irrigated with some of the best water in the world, grown without pesticides or without rejection of heated gas, have many advantages in the market. Geogreenhouse has already reached an agreement with a British company for the distribution of tomatoes in the UK.
