Brazil seeks to broaden its export offer to China with several new fruits

This week, Brazilian Agriculture Minister, Tereza Cristina, stated that Brazil aspires to broaden its fresh fruit export offer to China with several new products.
According to Cristina, Brazil is the third-largest global fruit producer, but a low-ranked exporter. The only product exported to China remains melon.
She stressed that Brazil is working towards opening Chinese market for Brazilian grapes and mangoes.
The minister highlighted the importance of Chinese market for Brazil's economy in the agricultural sector, and said they are open to new partnerships with Chinese companies.
She also mentioned that China's biggest food trader, COFCO or China Oil and Foodstuffs Corporation
Cristina believes it is important to increase global agricultural production in a sustainable way, reduce food waste, strengthen social protection policies, and reduce inequalities in access to healthy and safe food.
