Citrus production to the lowest since 50 years

Forecasts estimate the next production at 112,35 millions trays or the lowest volume since the 89,82 millions trays during the 1963-1964 season.
The US Department of Agriculture unveiled its forecast for the harvest of oranges 2014-15: Florida should produce 96.4 million boxes. So 8% less than last season and the lowest total since the 95.9 million boxes of 1965-1966 season.
For grapefruit 12.95 million trays, or 17% less compared compared to last season and the lowest volume since 1935/36 at 11.5 million trays and 2004/05 and 12,8 million trays. For mandarins and other citrus 3 million boxes, or the smallest crop in 73 years from 2.65 million trays in 1941 to 1942.
Citrus production in Florida has decreased since the discovery of the bacteria "citrus greening" in 2005. Florida had produced 291.8 million boxes of oranges, grapefruit and other citrus in 2003-04.
