Production of Kaki Ribera del Xúquer is forecast to increase

Expected increase in harvests of Kaki Ribera del Xúquer.

The Commission of Control of Kaki Ribera del Xúquer (Designation of Origin Protegida) predicts a harvest of about 90 000 tons for the 2013 season. 16% more than last year.

The Commission welcomes this progress and growth of the market. In fact this fruit, practically unknown about ten years ago, is now present in numerous markets. In recent years about 14 million euros have been invested in promotion campaigns.

For the future, the Commission plans to reach 400 000 tons of production in 2018.
