The citrus season is coming to an end
FJ
According to Mediterranean Exporters Union exportation figures of April, citrus exports for the month of April 2013 are lower by 43% in value and by 46% in volume than of the previous year, for about 46,000 tonnes from 85 000 tonnes of April 2012.
It is the export of oranges that represents the largest decrease of about 67%, followed by easy peelers with 51% and grapefruit with 46%. The exportation of lemons on it is less than 22% (percentages relate to the exported quantities).
It seems that the Turkish citrus season ends earlier than the previous season. This season was already characterized by smaller amounts of about 20% less compared to the previous season.
