De Groot becomes independent

The investment company Gimv has sold its stake in De Groot Fresh as the company returns to being a family-owned entreprise by the De Groot  family.

Gimv has held a majority stake in De Groot Fresh for 6 years the company and the company has grown into an international organization. After the sale, the company will rest entirely in the hands of brothers William and Ben de Groot.

The company has over 200 employees and generated sales of 200 million euros in 2010. The group is present in fruit and vegetable import, distribution and export. Refrigerated storage, banana ripening rooms, packaging lines, and a transport company complement the group's activities.
